Sights
Local Attractions
Hotelli Salpa is an attraction in itself. The hotel operates in the historic premises of the legendary Luumäki Motel, where even Alfred Hitchcock is said to have stayed. Finland’s first and only motel attracted visitors with its lively atmosphere and wide range of services. You can read the full story of the motel here.
Luumäki is located in an area rich in wartime history. During World War II, this region played an important role in Finland’s defence against the Soviet Union. The area is home to numerous military sites, including bunkers, fortifications, and historical landmarks. The nearest wartime bunker can be found right on the hotel grounds.
